“Literature and butterflies are the two sweetest passions known to man.” – Vladimir Nabokov.

A little insight into the things I love and enjoy:

Drinks: Gin! Sometimes partial to Champagne, a Bloody Mary or an interesting sounding cocktail that intrigues me, anything with lychee or elderflower.

Food: Vietnamese, Thai, French, Greek, Turkish, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Italian, pretty much everything, I can’t think of any cuisine I dislike. White-tablecloth high end restaurants are fun now and then but I am really most interested in how the food tastes. I really enjoy food, and also love to cook.

Turn ons: Anticipation, kissing, soft touching, mindful sensuality, intimacy and connection… most of the time. Occasionally there are times that the tamest visual cues can get to me, setting off a million inner animalistic urges. I like to experiment and explore and I certainly have done this with regards to my sexuality, but in doing so I discovered that the vitally important qualities needed when I engage in sexual experiences of any kind are intimacy and connection, and for me that is what keeps things fresh and exciting. This is where my interest in Tantra developed as I found it helped develop my experience of sex from being just a way to achieve a quick, empty release into something more fulfilling, that can always be developed further. So I do like to indulge myself with variety now and again, but if you took those qualities away I think I find that eventually even the most debauched activities start to feel dull and hollow.

Destination: I’m a big fan of city breaks, I love wandering around exploring, stopping to eat and people watching. My favourite cities are Melbourne, Barcelona, NYC, San Francisco, Stockholm and Bangkok (underrated!).

Perfume: I’m a bit of a perfume nut, and my collection is ever expanding. Current obsessions are Byredo – Bal D’Afrique (and most of their other scents), Juliette’s has a Gun – Not a Perfume, and Le Labo Rose 31.

Lingerie: Fleur Du Mal, Stella McCartney, Agent Provocateur, Edge o’ Beyond and Coco De Mer. Myla and La Perla are also divine. Lingerie is becoming a bit of a vice of mine. Definitely something I spend more money on than I know is sensible. It’s not even so it can be seen by someone else, I even enjoy just wearing it for me, and often will be in jeans and a t-shirt, running errands with something really luxurious and sexy underneath, revelling in my secret.

Clothing: APC, Anine Bing, Zara, & Other Stories, Whistles, Rick Owens and Sandro. I’m quite a casual, minimalist dresser, and to visit you I like to dress discreetly. Attire for public meetings (dinner/drinks etc.) will be decided based on what I feel is appropriate for our destination. Requests are welcome but although I may dress up, I don’t dress too revealingly, I prefer to leave a little to the imagination in public.

Shoes:  Chanel, Gianvito Rossi, Gucci, Prada. Although I am generally a pretty big flats and trainers fan (though I save them for my free time), I do love a beautiful pair of heels.

Art: Amrita Sher-gil, Charlotte Solomon, Lorna Simpson, Yayoi Kusama, Marlene Dumas, Francis Bacon, Bruce Gilden, Lucien Freud, Nan Goldin, Noboyoshi Araki, Daido Moriyama, Robert Crumb, Egon Schiele (or as someone commented recently, “All the perverted stuff.”).

Writers: Vladimir Nabokov, Milan Kundera, Joan Didion, Oscar Wilde, Oliver Sacks, William Butler Yeats, Christopher Hitchens, Pema Chodron, Sam Harris, Alan Bennett, Emily Bronte, Roddy Doyle, Kate Braverman & Cormac McCarthy.

Directors: Kenji Mizoguchi, Pedro Almodovar, David Lynch, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Asghar Farhadi, Hayao Miyazaki, Wes Anderson, The Coen brothers and Billy Wilder.

TV: I don’t seem to have time for TV these days, especially as they often release it all at once now and I am a terrible binger, so I try and avoid exposing myself when possible, lest I (inevitably) fall in and lose a few days/weeks! I loved The Wire (my favourite), House of Cards, The Sopranos, Louie, Twin Peaks and The Thick of It.

Interests: Cooking, fine dining (and not so fine), psychology and anthropology, travelling, meditation, reading, films, hiking and long, aimless walks, I like exploring.
